The First Three Months

Dear Family and Friends,

I just want to start by saying thank you so much for all your prayers and support and for walking this journey with me! It has been a really great start to the year so far and God is really moving in my life. The first month and a bit was all the leadership classes that I needed to take before the actually YWAM school started. That time God really dug deep with me and taught me things about myself that I needed to work on. He also showed me His healing power on my own body. My leg was badly hurt and a few people prayed for it and it was healed right then and there. I was amazed and was so thankful to God, not only for my leg feeling better, but also for Him showing me that He is the Healer! Also, during this first month I learned heaps about being a servant leader and also some practical things that I needed to know in order to help staff a school!

In mid-February the students arrived and the first weekend away we headed out to the Sunshine Coast! It was a great time to get to know the students, who are from all over the world, and to be able to enjoy God’s beauty all around us. That weekend we also shared testimonies and we were able to see how God has moved in all our lives! The following week we had lectures on the character and nature of God. This is a great week because it is the foundation of our faith and we were able to really grasp a hold of who the King of Kings truly is.

The following week’s lectures were hearing God’s voice and this week was so splendid. The students were really able to hear God and know that He does speak to us everyday. It was also so encouraging to me as well to be able to be apart of these lectures and hear more about how God speaks to us! On top of this, the week also was about intercession. This has been a huge key to this particular school and I have really been learning more about prayer and the importance of praying. I also recently finished the book called the Circle Maker by Mark Batterson and I would highly recommend that to you!

That weekend we were able to help out wherever needed at the apple and grape festival! This was a great weekend to do the things that some people wouldn’t want to do. Most of the work that we did was dumping trash, handing out chai tea, and just being God’s light with whatever we had to do. My favorite job was helping out with an auction they were doing because I was the runner so whenever anyone bought anything I would run to that person and hand them a slip of paper! The most cool thing was that there were so many compliments about the things we were doing and people were so thankful for us! It was good to be His hands and feet:)

The following week was all about the Father Heart of God! This week really gives us an understanding of who our Heavenly Father (Daddy) truly is compared to our earthly father. A lot of times people have a wrong view of God because of there worldly view of their dad. After this week, we headed to an island called Stradburg Island, where we did loads of team building games and really grew as an outreach team!

The past two weeks have been on Lordship and Worldview. Lordship week was full on with really giving everything we have to God! I loved this week so much because I asked God to see Him through different eyes and by the end of the week something just clicked and I saw God through the eyes of a leader instead of a student. It just hit me that God is using me as a leader with the school.

Throughout these past three months there have been many things learned and I have grown heaps. I saw Jesus completely heal the sharp pain in my knee in an instant. God had me in a situation where I was faced with spiritual warfare right in front of my eyes. He has taken me through valleys where all I can do it rely on Him and trust in Him that He is always good no matter what! During this school I am in charge of the kitchen while we are on the road and also the worship and sports for the school! It has been cool to see growth even through practical things!

Thank you so much for your support and prayers. I’m sorry it took awhile for me to bring you an in depth update. I love you heaps!

God Speaking

Rather than trying to maintain control over your life, abandon yourself to My will. Though this may feel frightening—-even dangerous, the safest place to be is in My will!

Amazing! I want to be like both of these people!!
